Role: environment & viz-post artist
"DEATHBATTLE!" is a show based around the hypothetical "What if [CHARACTER A] fought [CHARACTER B]?" After running the data, the team will animate a quick fight between the two to answer that burning question.
My role on the animation-end was to build environments in Unreal Engine 5, using pre-existing assets and setting up the initial lighting of the set. After the animation was complete, I would also be responsible for ingesting the animation data from Maya back into Unreal, then lighting and adding VFX. Compositing in Adobe After Effects would also be common for final render.
Many episodes also called for 2D animation to be composited onto the 3D environment, where my proficiency in After Effects and Adobe Animate helped blend the two mediums together into a unique animation style.
